What is RCV?

Ranked-choice voting (RCV) is a voting system that allows voters to rank candidates in order of preference instead of casting a single vote for a single candidate. If no candidate receives a majority of the first choice votes, then the candidate who did the worst is eliminated, and that candidate’s voters’ ballots are redistributed to their second-choice pick.
